Chamoy is a traditional Latin chili and fruit sauce or paste. The consistency may vary depending on your personal preference. Some like their chamoy thick and others prefer the sauce watery. But if you love sweet and spicy flavors you’re definitely going to enjoy adding this sauce to fruits, cocktails, and even gummy candies!
Homemade Mango Chamoy
- 1 Blender
- 1 Medium Saucepan
- 1 Measuring Cup
- 1 Dropper
- Make sure to remove the seeds from the dried prunes. Now, add water, hibiscus flowers, mangoes, prunes, mango chili syrup, mango concentrate, salt, tajin, into a small pot.
- Allow the mixture to come to a low boil then reduce the heat to a simmer. Let the mixture simmer for 30-35 minutes.
- Once done, transfer the contents into a separate large bowl and allow it to cool for 5-10 minutes.
- Transfer the mixture into a blender, and add the lime juice. Mix on high until smooth. Add in more water a tablespoon at a time until desired consistency is reached. Taste and adjust the seasoning if needed.
